Social Media Marketing During COVID

During the last two years, libraries have relied on social media more heavily for online marketing and outreach. As libraries have slowly re-opened, we have gained considerable expertise in using social media for marketing and outreach purposes.

Some libraries have increased their engagement on social media by producing videos for Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. Some have ventured into new territory like TikTok and have created compelling video content.

What new social media practices did you learn (during COVID) that you will continue to use? What worked and what did not?

For our spring 2022 meeting, we seek short, lightning round presentations that showcase the new social media marketing techniques you have initiated during COVID.

Some question prompts for our spring 2022 meeting:

  1. How has your library been involved in developing new social media marketing activities and initiatives in response to COVID?
  2. How are you using social media differently ?
  3. What social media expertise and knowledge did you learn during COVID?
  4. What social media marketing practices did you utilize during COVID that are going to stay?
